The Washington Redskins resigned DL Ziggy Hood and released DL Ricky Jean-Francois today.
Hood, signed last year, played in all games for the Redskins last season. He accumulated 33 tackles and added a forced fumble and one sack. Hood played better as the season progressed and ended up playing the tenth most defensive snaps on the Redskins defense.
Reports are also circulating that the Redskins have released DL Ricky Jean-Francois. Jean-Francois was entering the third year of a three year deal that he signed in 2015. The release of Jean-Francois saves the Redskins $3 million on the salary cap.
In another move, the Redskins also resigned OL Vinston Painter. Painter joined the Redskins last season as he was claimed off waivers from the Miami Dolphins. He started the season on the Redskins practice squad but was moved tot he 53 man roster in September.
