The Washington Redskins have placed safety David Bruton, Jr. on injured reserve. Bruton was removed from the game during the fourth quarter of the win over the Cleveland Browns, with symptoms related to a concussion.

The Redskins signed safety Donte Whitner today and could also call on safeties Duke Ihenacho and DeShazor Everett to fill in for Bruton, who has not been effective this season, even when healthy.
Bruton, an 8-year pro taken in the 4th round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, signed with the Skins in March for $9 million over three seasons. Bruton was a special teams star for the Broncos, but had never been a regular starter before this season.
