With the NFL Draft quickly approaching, GM Scot McCloughan has a big decision to make.  What position should the Redskins focus on in the first round?  If the Redskins have the opportunity, they would likely get out of the 21st pick and trade down.  McCloughan has made clear that he would like to have twelve draft selections. They currently have eight selections.

good teams can afford to draft the best available player.  But, are the Redskins in that category?  Likely not  They have significant needs.  That doesn’t mean they won’t take best available.  Looking at the roster, the Redskins have huge needs in the secondary, both at cornerback and safety. They have a big need in the defensive interior of the line.  They could use upgrades on the interior of the offensive front, specifically at right guard and center.  With the departure of RB Alfred Morris, they could use a running back to compliment Matt Jones.  Is Matt Jones and Chris Thomson ready for a heavy load? Can they stay healthy?
