OF Corey Brown was hoping for a shot to be the Washington Nationals fourth outfielder, providing key depth for starters Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth, and Denard Span. Â That hope dissipated a week and half ago when the Nationals signed free agent Nate McLouth.
For Brown to get a proper shot, he would need a trade. Â Where better for the Nats to seek a trade than the Oakland A’s. Â Â Nats GM Mike Rizzo and A’s GM Billy Beane fulfilled another trade that sent Brown to the A’s in exchange for cash considerations.
Brown goes back to Oakland. Â Brown was traded to Washington in the deal that sent Josh Willingham from Washington to Oakland.
