Nats place Joe Ross on the disabled list

The Washington Nationals have placed starting pitcher Joe Ross on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation.  That move comes as Stephen Strasburg comes off the disabled list to make a start today.  Strasburg missed two starts with an upper back strain.

The Nationals became concerned with Ross after his last start in which they noticed a significant drop in his pitch velocity.  With Ross now on the DL, top prospect Lucas Giolito will stay on the roster with the Nats and pitch in place of Ross.
