Despite dominating ice time and shots at 44-10, the Washington Capitals have yet to solve former caps goalie Michal Neuvirth, as he stole the show Friday night, to force a Game Six on Sunday. The best thing that happened to the Flyers was putting Neuvirth in for a struggling Steve Mason, as the Caps have failed in two consecutive games to solve Neuvith’s net minding.
The Caps dominated in shots. They dominated with ice time in Philadelphia’s end of the ice. They donated in scoring opportunities. However, the Flyers dominated where they need to stay alive, not he scoreboard.
The series is now at 3-2 and heads back to Philadelphia for game six on Sunday at Noon. The scary thing is, the Caps have been historically plagued by choking in round one, despite domination in the regular season. This was suppose to be different. But is it? We shall see Sunday.
